Privacy Policy

The short version: Noqey does not collect your data. No account, no tracking, no analytics. What you say and type stays yours.

On your device by default

Noqey can transcribe entirely on your Mac using a local model. In this mode your audio and the resulting text never leave your device. No internet connection is required.

Optional cloud transcription

You may choose to use a cloud provider (OpenAI or Groq) by entering your own API key. When you do, your audio is sent directly from your Mac to that provider to be transcribed, and is handled under their privacy policy. Farmersdance, the maker of Noqey, never receives or sees this audio or text.

Your API key

If you add a key, it is stored securely in the macOS Keychain on your own Mac. It is never sent anywhere except, as a standard authorization header, to the provider you selected.

Recordings

Noqey keeps only your most recent recording on your Mac, as a safety feature so a dictation can be recovered if something goes wrong. It is overwritten by your next recording and is never uploaded by us.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address to deliver the font files, as with any website that uses Google Fonts.

Children

Noqey is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Continued use of Noqey means you accept the current version.
